                                                             Books

I like to read books a lot because you can get a lot more information than watching things. At the moment I am reading A Canoe In The Mist. It is about two girls and one of them lives in New Zealand and one of them is on holiday in NZ and there is a big volcanic eruption and they have to flee from Rotorua.

 Waitangi School trip

On Wednesday we went to waitangi for a school trip.

At waitangi we met our tour guide Whaea Imogen. First we went to the museum and saw a copy of the tiriti o waitangi as the real copy is in wellington.

Then we went to a tent in the tiriti grounds and had to make our own moari signatures, then sign our own tiriti. After that we went to the tiriti whare and the marae. At the tiriti whare I read that Agnes busby taut three maori girls how to knit and when she found out that they were skipping school to come to her,  she only let them come to her out of school hours.

 How Do You Play Yoshi?

Yoshi is a great game where you can have multiple players on each team as long as they're even on each side. It was originally a computer game that was turned into a P.E game.

What you need and the set-up

To play Yoshi you need to have two teams, two hoops/mats/chairs and place them diagonally in each corner of the space you play in e.g a field/court. Then you put a line of cones in the middle of the space you want to play.

How to play

First you need to know the rules. The way it is played you need to have one team on each side of the cones. Then have one person who is not playing e.g the teacher say ‘go’. Once they say go the people playing try to get the other side without getting tagged, if they get tagged they have to stay where they are until someone from their team comes and gets them without getting tagged on their way there. If they manage to get to their teammate and grab them without getting tagged they are free to go back to their side.

How to win

When someone calls ‘Yoshi’ the whole team is free to go to the hoop/mat/chair on the other teams side and they are not allowed to get tagged, if they were tagged before ‘Yoshi’ was called they have to have someone come and get them and run back and then go to the hoop/mat/chair. The first team to get everyone to the hoop/mat/chair is the winner.

Manuka Tea

Today we made manuka tea. We had the idea after we read a book about manuka. To  make manuka tea you need to wash soak out any bugs or germs. Strip the leaves off and add to a teapot with boiling water. After 10 minutes you should have a beautiful herbal tea. You can also sweeten with a little  bit of honey.

Manuka honey is very good for healing infected wounds because it has hydrogen peroxide which is good for stopping infecting wounds and they can get better and heal.
